A chip shop staple… but I’ve never made one myself! So after last week’s hectic cooking, it’s time to try a simple pie that will be good for two meals. Recipe from BBC Good Food.
So… mise en place:
Brown chicken.
Remove and fry bacon.
Add onions, mushrooms and thyme.
Make a quick faux roux by dumping some flour in, then add chicken stock and milk, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Then it’s into the pie dish to cool.
Later on homemade puff goes on, and it gets baked.
Then mash and garden sweetcorn.
Mmmm bacon and proper chicken stock makes it good.
