Soph recently discovered an amazing gadget called a spiraliser. It turns vegetables into what look like noodles or pasta. We’ve been using it for weeknight meals, replacing the pasta with courgette spirals, a bit like this dish.
Today I’m going to use it to make a Waldorf Salad; specifically I’m going to spiralise the apple to make a bed for the celery, walnuts and grapes to go on, and serve with a fat-free yogurt and crumbled blue cheese dressing.
So the apple goes on the ‘spiraliser’:
The handle gets turned, and out comes apple spirals!
Then we serve up.
We had some garden lettuce to use up, so that went on to.
And… erm… grapes were added half way through eating when we remembered we’d forgotten them!
Can hardly believe you almost forgot the grapes – after years of quoting the Waldorf salad recipe from Faulty Towers.
