Yakitori Chicken

In an attempt to offset the calories of last night, tonight we’re doing a healthy stir-fry fro dinner.

We bought a yakitori marinade, and used it to… well marinade chicken breast pieces. We then make a similar sauce to cook the stir-fry veg with: soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, rice wine, sesame oil, chilli flakes & sugar.

So: stir fry bell peppers, onion, mushrooms & spring onions with ginger & garlic. Grill up the marinaded chicken on skewers, basting with more yakitori sauce and sesame seeds at the end. Serve with basmati rice. #nom

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESIt was delicious! It was borderline spicy for us… which might have made normal people give up and drink milk after a few mouthfuls :) The sesame from the oil and seeds worked really well.

I’m looking forward to doing more stir-fries and experimenting with other flavours. However the basic soy/sugar/vinegar base with garlic and chilli will probably always be there!
