I’ve mentioned the excess of pears we got delivered before… well we’ve still got some and they’re starting to go off :( So I decided to do a quick filo tart with them tonight.
It’s very simple really, just a couple of sheets of filo pastry, folded into a square using some butter flavour spray.
Then I used up the last of a jar of Nutella and dabbed a few bits on.
Then it’s on with the pears.
This went into a 180c fan oven for 10 minutes, then I sprinkled some demerara sugar on top and put back in for another 10 minutes.
Things look nicely brown after cooking.
So time to cut it up and eat!
Mmm… And not the unhealthiest dessert in the world!
- 2 sheets filo pastry
- End of a jar of Nutella
- Handful of over-ripe pears, sliced and selected for freshness
- Sprinkle of demerara sugar
Fold filo sheets into square on lined baking tray, sticking down with butter favour spray. Dollop on Nutella, top with pears.
Cook at 180c fan or 10 minutes, sprinkle with sugar, and cook for another 10 minutes.
I should do something similar with the tons of apples in my garden but I’m so busy peeling, coring, cooking and freezing them (for use the whole year) I don’t have the inclination to add pastry.
